Question
Ben,

My drivers side window doesn't lift properly. I took the door panel off and it looks like there is a guide track inside and the window does not align to it. The window slides forward and then gets stuck.

Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Jim,

This is not an uncommon problem with this vintage of Monte Carlo.  You need to remove the bolt holding the bottom of the "guide track" and then move the track back while pulling the front edge of the glass back into the track.  You may need to move the glass up and down to find the ideal height where the glass will slip back into the the channel most easily.  Be sure to re-install the bolt.

I also suggest you use spray silicone lubricant ("wet" is best) on all the glass "tracks" at both front and back edges of the glass.  Don't use any other type of lubricant.

Let me know if there are any other questions.

Ben ..... the power window guy.
