Question
The driver's power window will roll down just fine, but only roll up after many tries.  All other windows are fine.  Any suggestions as to the problem?

Answer
Hi Jo,

I don't have any direct experience with the Mazda Tribute, so I can't give you as much information as I would like to about your problem.  However, let me describe two scenarios and you can make a decision based on your circumstances.

1.  Your problem description mentions "many tries."  If by this you mean that the window goes up a short ways and stops and then if you wait ten minutes or so it goes up a short ways again, then you need a new motor.  I doubt that a replacement motor is available from anyone but Mazda.  Even worse, Mazda may only offer a motor/regulator combination mechanism depending on the type of mechanism used: pricey!

2.  If "many tries" means that you are pushing or pressing or lifting the switch button several different times and the window suddenly goes up smoothly in one try, then you need a new switch.  Here again, Mazda is probably going to be your only source for a replacement part.

Hope I helped.  Feel free to send a follow up if you need more information.

Ben ..... the power window guy.
