Question
Hello,
What is the best way to repair non-moving power side view mirrors on a '01 Chevy Tahoe. The door switch is unresponsive or it works very sporadically. Could it be a fuse or loose wire?

Barrett

Answer
Hi Barrett,

Your question is not really in my area of expertise because your problem is probably electrical.

Your problem is not a fuse.  The mirrors would not work sporadically if the fuse had blown.

Your problem could be a bad switch, an almost broken wire, or it may be a defective solid state device called a "body control module."  This is not a problem you are likely to solve with out professional help.

Check your Yellow Pages for listings under Automotive Electrical Repair.  Or ask your local part stores for their recommendations on a local repair shop with strong electrical expertise.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
