Auto Glass/Power Windows Dead

Question
Hi,

I have a 96 Honda Civic Si 2 Door and my windows are not working anymore.  A while back they were working, then one or the other started to work only at times but only one worked and not two.  At a point I figured a way to get both of them down by playing with each big wire connected from the car to the door panel as I played with the switch as well but now nothing works at all.  I brought my car to my mechanic to get it checked/repaired and he said everything was fine(fuze, ect) except for where the switches are on the driver's side because power got all the way there so that had to be the problem but he still wasn't certain...

What do you think this problem could be?

Thank you very much!

Pat

Answer
Hi Pat,

I suspect you have either a bad master switch or a broken wire.

I think you should find a different mechanic to deal with this issue.  Try the Yellow Pages under "Automotive Electrical Repairs" or ask the counter people at your local parts store to recommend someone who has considerable experience in electrical work.

Feel free to send me a follow up question if you need more detail.
