Question
I have a 2002 lincoln LS AND i let my window up I heard something crack  like glass. I contined to let it up but it ended up being off track the whole window. What do I need to do.......and how much do you think it will cost to get repaired

regulator guides
Hi Ebony,

 
                The sound you heard was the plastic ends of the window regulator guides letting go. The crunching sound is the cable wrapping itself onto the main gear and binding itself. This is a common problem with the Cable run regulators made today. Some of these regulators are in the 150-180 range depending on the car.  I found one on Ebay for your car for 49.00 Buy Now + shipping.  Item number: 320417074203  The job is not that hard but I would not recommend having your brother or hubby do this one. A Professional glass shop would charge you 75-100 to install a customer supplied regulator.  I have attached an Image of the part.
