Question
Hi - the driver's side front window of my Grand Prix GT won't go up. My son (of course) was driving it when it went down, so I don't know if it made any noise. How can I tell if it's the switch or the regulator? I popped the switch panel thinking I could swap one out, but obviously the harness is ganged for the front windows.

Answer
Ken,

I would say bring it to an Auto Electric place or a Auto Glass shop and have it checked, but if you want to do it yourself and get the parts.

I would try to jump the motor directly with an old 12v Cigarette lighter adapter Cell phone cord or something similar that has a fusible link that is good for at least 20-30 amps and see if the motor moves.  You will have to pull the door panel to get to the motor plug!

If the motor does move its the switch, If it is a bad motor you did not buy a switch you did not need!

ALSO: There is another Expert on here named Ben. He does just Window Motors and Switches, If you want to get a Second opinion and ask him, He sounds like he knows his stuff!!

Let me know what you find and we will go from there!!!!   HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!  DEREK =D
