Auto Glass/97 celica quarter window won't work

Question
Checked the window with 12 source and it goes up and down fine. Checked switch with test light and looks like the down position is dimmer than up position. Multimeter reads -12 and +12 respectively but that's without a load on circuit. Any idea what I should check next?

Answer
Hi Ron,

I have not seen this problem very often, but when I have it has usually been a faulty switch.

If you haven't already done so, I recommend that you disconnect the switch and then apply 12V power to the quarter window up / down wires to confirm the wiring integrity and motor function.  If the window works properly from the remote power source, I think it is safe to assume that you need a new switch.

Send a follow up question if there is anything else I can help you with.
