Hi again Ben,

So I popped out the driver's side control switch. Then I tried to close the culprit front passenger window. When I did the wire had a "jump" or surge in it. I tapped it a couple of times and lo and behold the window closed. Then I opened it a crack again, and again it wouldn't close. After several attempts it did! Whew, at least this means I can drive the car into town! I live in the middle of logging country with no services of any type for 35 minutes and of course it started to rain today! :(  I can borrow a volt meter from my neighbor to help with the diagnosis of the problem but I am unsure as to where and what I should test. Any help you can give me would surely be appreciated. I have located a online store that carries the control switch but want to make sure that is what I need to fix the problem. Thanks again in advance for any help with my poor little old car. I know by driving over logging roads it has definitely made a negative impact on my car :(

Hello Again Pax,

Glad to hear your window is up and your car is serviceable again.

I'll get back to you later when I have access to a window circuit wiring diagram so I can tell you which of the wires from your master window switch operate the various window motors in the four doors.  Please be patient, it may take a day or two.  I don't have on-line access to the wiring information and have to "beg" a friend for the information.

Okay!  Here are the wiring colors on the master switch:

Drivers window:  white with black stripe and solid yellow

Passenger front window:  tan with blue stripe and white with yellow stripe

Left rear window:  grey with orange stripe and yellow with blue stripe

Right rear window:  red with black stripe and yellow with black stripe
