Auto Glass/no power doors or windows

Question
I have a 1995 camry, the other day my power windows and locks suddenly stopped working. The weird thing is nothing happens when I hit the unlock or lock button inside my car but the locks do work when using my keyless remote. I checked the pink 30a fuse located behind the coin pocket that supposedly controls this and it was fine. Any ideas or what should I check next.

Answer
Hi Zach,

Your problem is probably a broken wire between the driver door and the body of the car.  If you look in the area of the door hinges you will see a rubber "boot."  The wiring for all your power windows runs through that "boot."  While not every Camry of this vintage will experience a broken wire in this bundle, it is common enough to be the most likely problem.

Unless you have a significant amount of experience at troubleshooting and making electrical repairs, I would bring this one to a professional.  If your own mechanic isn't comfortable solving the problem, he is likely to know someone who specializes in automotive electrical work.

Let me know if I can assist in any other way.

I have been repairing window problems full time for over seven years. I have repaired most all types of problems in the majority of domestic and import vehicles newer than 1988.
