Question
how do I remove the power window motor on the 2002 tahoe?

Answer
Hello Dave,

You don't give me much information about your problem, so I am going to assume that one of the windows on your Tahoe is having trouble going up.  Further more, you have decided that you have a bad motor.

First, I recommend that you spray the rubber gaskets ("glass run channels") with spray silicone to make sure that the problem isn't just sticky/dirty run channels.  You can buy spray silicone at most hardware stores and lumber yards like Home Depot %26 Lowe's.  Cheap stuff is as good as expensive stuff in this case.  Whatever you do, just don't use anything but silicone.

Second, if the motor is actually bad, it is best to replace the entire window regulator assembly on this vehicle.  GM and others do sell just the window motor for this vehicle, but it is not simple to replace.  I recommend that you buy a regulator / motor combination from either GM or an aftermarket company named "Dorman Products."  The entire assembly doesn't cost too much more than just the motor.  You get the benefit of a new cable mechanism which fails as often as the motor and it is easier to install the entire assembly than just the motor alone.

If you have any other questions, please send me a follow up.
