Question
the back passenger window in my toyota camry keeps falling down while i am driving. i took the door panel off and saw that the cables unraveled from the bottom pulley. how do i fix it so my window will stay up?

Answer
Hi Catie,

There is no way to repair the window "regulator."  It must be replaced if you want the window to work properly.

If all you want to do is keep the window up, the simplest solution is to slide the window to the top and then place a "clamp" on the vertical rail of the regulator right underneath the the window.  You can buy a variety of small clamps at most hardware and home stores.  Also consider using a small pair of "locking pliers" (ViseGrip) as your clamp.  Don't forget to disconnect the electrical wiring to the motor after you have the window up.

Feel free to send me a follow up if you have any other questions.
