Funny, I had the EXACT thing happen to my Toyota Highlander (2001) channel assembly.  Cost for the part is $25.  Trying to take the window out myself so as to replace the assembly on the bottom the window.  P.S. - my name is also Michael.

Thanks Ben Menard

I had a 2001 Toyota Highlander and had to replace the track at the bottom of the rear window. I seen your step-by-step directions online. It worked very good! Thanks Dale
