Auto Glass/Power Window Driver Side Won't Go Up - 02 Kia Optima

Question
I rolled my window down the other day and it now will not roll up.  It wasn't fully down so I tried to roll it further down and it worked as far as going down. When I got home later that day, my brother-in-law helped me pull the window up by tapping on the window down button to allow it some give then pull up. Repeated the process until it was all the way up. However, the window wont stay up and falls halfway down before staying there. The motor does not appear to be the problem but I am not sure what part I need.

It makes a mixture of clunking/grinding sounds but won't move up when I try. All other windows work normally. I just need to know what part I need and what procedure I need to look up, as I know someone who may be able to fix it with a little guidance. Thanks so much!

Answer
Hi Jessica,

The Cable on the window regulator has broken.

You can get a New Motor and Regulator together in one unit on Ebay for under 50.00.

If you copy and paste this: NEW WINDOW REGULATOR WITH MOTOR POWER LEFT HYUNDAI CAR )

into Ebay you will find the part your looking for. Some even come with directions.

Buy this one and have your friend open up the door you will see it is not that hard

to replace. Let me know how you make out.

                                          Hope This Helps! Derek =D
