Auto Glass/Roll up power windows manually?

Question
I have a 2006 scion xb. I just bought the car and it was missing the drivers side power window master switch. I ordered the switch but my windows are currently down on all four windows. Is it possible to roll them up manually for safety until this part comes in?

Yes! But I would Bring it to a Professional Auto electric Shop!
The only way to get power to the motors is jumping the 12v power from some place like the Cigarette lighter and putting that to the motors to roll them up, Auto electric shops have this jumper and can do the job in 20 mins and you wont have to pay a lot to have it done SAFELY! Jumping done wrong can screw the whole Electrical system in the car or cause a fire.

| Comment | Thank you for trying to help. The auto electrician told me that in the main switch that I was missing allot more than just 12V was being jumped in there. Like the windows lock switch and a relay was also needed. The power window motors are grounded internally and possibly that the main switch circuitry had resistors that produced a certain voltage that the motors ran off as the motors did not respond to 12V at all. It all worked out either way as I received my switch in the mail the following day. I appreciate your willingness, time, and super fast response. Thank you. Best regards, Robert | ||
