Auto Glass/window glass mounting brackets

Question
I will be ordering universal auto glass brackets for my 2004 Mitsubishi endeavor driver's window.  I would like to know which is better, the plastic door glass bracket or the metal door glass bracket.  I am concerned that the metal will just break the window but also concerned that the plastic will just break in half like the original did. Which do you think will get the job done without breaking either way?

Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Vines,

I am not really very familiar with the OEM glass brackets on your 2004 Endeavor, so I don't know which one will work best for you.

I can tell you that both the plastic aftermarket bracket and the metal aftermarket bracket need to be glued (epoxy) to the glass so installation is about the same.  Since the plastic and metal brackets are somewhat different styles (plastic is "female" and metal is "male") it might be easier to chose the one that comes closest to your OEM.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
