Auto Insurance Claims/Question about coverage

Question
I want to know if a policy is not paid on time, but has not been cancelled and I have an accident and it's my fault, is coverage available for the other persons vehicle?

Answer
Hello Helga,

Probably not, but it depends. Some insurance policies have a “grace period.” If you are within the grace period, you might be okay. If however you are outside the grace period, the insurance company policy is not in effect, and therefore there would not be coverage.
