Question
Hi- I live in FL.  My father owns a vehicle (I do not live with him and it is financed) that he lets me drive, due to my financial situation.  Because I am not the "owner" what coverage do I need to protect myself, and because he is the owner, what coverage does he need to cover himself and comply with the no fault law? Thanks.

Hi Jen,
Since your question only regarded your needs while driving your fathers vehicle, there was no reason to recommend a named non owner policy.  A named non owner policy is only necessary for people who don't own a car and frequently drive various cars owned by others.  As I stated in my answer, your father needs to review his coverages with the agent to be sure that his policy provides adequate protection for both of you, when he adds you on the policy according to the proper method that I explained.
All the volunteers at allexperts serve without remuneration of any type and only ask for a fair rating for our answers.
I feel that I thoroughly answered the question as posed and that your rating of 8 for knowledge is very unfair.
Only you can correct the rating of 8 to a more fair rating of 10 by sending an e-mail to:
experts@about.com     Refer to the date of your question and the title assigned to it 'Personal Auto Coverage'.
Thank you,
Bennie

Hi Jen,
Your father needs to notify his agent that you are a regular driver of his car and have you listed as a driver on the policy.
If the car is being kept at your residence, he also needs to inform the agent of the new garaging location.

Since Florida instituted a brand new no-fault insurance plan effective 1-1-08, I don't have the information on their new plan.
While your father is discussing these other matters with his agent, he can review all his coverage to be sure the the policy provides adequate protection for both of you.
I hope this has been of help.
Your feedback by rating my answer will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Bennie
