Auto Insurance Claims/School bus passenger hit in other state

Question
I work for a hospital in Utah where a patient was a passenger on a school bus.  The patient is from Idaho, but was hit here in Utah.  Do we need to bill the patient's insurance, since Utah is a no-fault state, or since the patient was a passenger on a school bus, do we bill the school's auto insurance?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Jeannine,
In my opinion, your first billing would be to the school's auto insurance or the patients personal health  insurance.
Although the patient's (or parents) Idaho insurance policy is worded is such a manner that it converts and conforms to the laws of a non-fault state when traveling there, there is usually a limitation that allows extension of coverage while riding in other vehicles that stipulates the extension only applies when riding in a four wheel passenger vehicle.
I hope this is of help.
Your feedback by rating my answer will be appreciated.
