Auto Insurance Claims/car insurance on parents

Question
Hi, I'm nineteen years old, and I am looking to buy my very own first sports car, but insurance is going to be out of the roof! So to avoid that, I was wanting to get on my parent's insurance, I mean is that possible without the car indeed being in his name? What would someone in my situation do??

Answer
Hello Nick,

Yeah you can do this as long as you live in the household and your parents are ok with that. Make sure you double check with your local agent first. There are few states that have different regulations. In any case, you want to make sure the insurance company knows that you live there and that you are the sole title owner.

Good Luck,
Anne
