Auto Insurance Claims/Auto Accident - Which State Law Applies

Question
If I have an auto accident outside my home state of Missouri, would the Oklahoma law (where the accident occurred) apply or would my home state of Missouri law apply?

The reason is that Missouri allows insurance companies to deduct the cost of replacing air bags from their estimate to repair the vehicle.

Answer
Hi Tony,
I found your question in the question pool and felt that I can be of help.
The terms and conditions of your policy regarding comprehensive and collision are subject to the state in which the policy was issued.

As you drive about from state to state, your bodily injury and property damage adjust (if necessary) to meet the minimums of the state in which you are driving.  Example: if you carry 15/30/10 from your home state and you drive into a state that requires a minimum limit of 25/50/25, then your policy automatically increases to those higher limits.
If you should happen to drive into one of the 11 no fault insurance states, your policy changes to conform to the no fault laws.
In neither situation does your comprehensive or collision coverage change.
I hope this information has been of help.
Your feedback by rating my answer will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Bennie
