Question
If two people are married to each other, will they automatically be listed under the list of "Named Insured" or "Insured Named" regardless of who is registered with the car and who owns it?
Also,
Is it possible for two brothers to be under the "Named (or Names) Insured" list on a car insurance statement or any paper relating to car insurance. Can two brothers be insured together?

Answer
Hi Kristen,
In the case of a married couple, they are each considered named insureds under the legal wording of the policy.  If they want both names to appear on the declarations page of the policy, they will have to ask the insurance to make the necessary name change.

In the case of two brothers, they would need to co-register the car into both names and have the insurance company make a name change on the declarations page in order for them both to be named insureds.  Otherwise, the brother that is named on the policy is the named insured and the other brother is just listed as a driver on the policy.
If they live in the same household, the other brother would be a resident relative and would have an extension of certain coverage in some cases, but not as broad as they would be were he a named insured.

I Hope this information has been helpful.
