| Comment | Thanks, that was very informative. You are right that it would be more worth my while to pursue the legislature than to pursue the $500 from the insurance/other driver (it only damaged my tire and rim, but right now I'm driving on my spare which is a full size spare, I just need to replace it and it was more of a principle thing for me). When I contacted our department of insurance, I was told that NC is only one of four other states that still use the 1% type of insurance (I guess that's why we have some of the lowest insurance rates in the nation because no one is ever found at fault). I mean I guess that as an extreme example: an insurance company could say that because the left front tire only had 32lbs of air in the tire instead of the 34lbs of air as recommended in the manual, the driver may have been able to prevent the accident which means they have a percentage of liability in the accident. | ||
