Question
my son was killed two weeks ago when his motorcycle struck an suv. my sun had the right of way how ever the motor cycle he was riding only had 30 day insurance provided by the financer of the motorcycle, since it was brand new.and as i understand it it only covered the bike .the owner of the suv had full coverage and the adjuster told me i might be entitled to some sort of compensation, since my son died  and both parties were at fault my question is entitled to how much and under what stipulations? should i retain a lawyer?

Answer
Good Morning Cameron,
I am saddened to learn of your loss and send my condolences.

You state that your son had the right of way, however, you state that the adjuster is saying that they were both at fault.  This part does not sound reasonable.

In my opinion, you need to consult with an attorney with TRIAL EXPERIENCE.
You can call your local County Attorney Referral Service (it's free)
and they will provide you with the names of 3-6 qualified attorneys in your area.

In most states, the first consultation is free.  In others, there is a minimal charge of approximately $20 for the first 30 minute consultation.  You may need to consult with two or more attorneys to find one that you feel comfortable with, then you should retain an attorney to represent you in this case.  It is much to complicated to handle alone.

I hope this information is found to be of help.  Please write me again anytime that you feel that I can be of additional help.

Sincerely,
Bennie
