Auto Insurance Claims/automatic auto coverage

Question
Hello,
I was rear ended by a driver who had purchased his car the day before the accident, July 3 and accident was on July 4th.  He was cited by FHP with careless driving.  He owned 4 other cars that had coverage with Infinity Indemnity Ins. Co.  They denied the claim saying that he had not added this vehicle.  Is there a requirement for them to provide automatic coverage if they write policies in Florida?
Thank you,
ED

Answer
Hi Ed,
Insurance polices vary in their finer points from state to state.  I would have to read the other party's policy to see if there was a grace period to add a newly acquired vehicle.
Your own insurance company should be able to determine the rules that were in effect for Infinity Indemnity on 7-04-08.

Good Luck,
Bennie
