Question
i am about to buy a car from a dealer and on the title it is written rebuilt salvage, is there a difference between a salvage car and a rebuilt salvage car?  and again he said no need for me to take it for inspections if i buy the car, so my worry is i hope i donot have problems insuring the car?

Answer
Hi Enow,

DON'T  DO  IT.

A SALVAGE VEHICLE IS ONE THAT HAS BEEN CONSIDERED A TOTAL LOSS AND IS SETTING IN A WRECKING YARD.

A REBUILT SALVAGE IS A TOTAL THAT HAS BEEN PURCHASED AND REPAIRED BY USING THE PARTS FROM OTHER DAMAGED CARS TO MAKE ONE.

THESE CARS ARE NOT SAFE.  I HAVE SEEN MANY OF THEM BREAK IN HALF WHEN HIT.

THE VALUE PLACED ON THESE CARS BY INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE SLIGHTLY LESS THAN 50% OF THE VALUE OF THE SAME CAR WITH A 'CLEAN' TITLE.

MANY INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL NOT INSURE A "REBUILT SALVAGE" VEHICLE.
THOSE THAT DO, ONLY INSURE FOR LIABILITY.  YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PURCHASE COMPREHENSIVE AND COLLISION.

SINCERELY,
