Auto Insurance Claims/Third Party Carrier refusing to pay loss wages

Question
I was involved in an accident where I was rear ended.  There were three cars involved.  THe at fault party rear ended the car behind me, pushing that car into me.  The car directly behind me got most of the damage, suffering a borken rear window and much damage. My car had minor damage although the impact was moderate.  I took three days off of work following the accident because of headaches, which I do suffer from migranes.  However I did not go to see a Physician.  I have prescrition meds that I used for the pain.  Well, to make a long story short, the third part carrier is refusing to consider my lost wages because I did not seek medical attention.  Is this typically procedural of an insurance carrier to deny a loss wage claim for the above listed reason of not seeking medical attention?

Answer
Hello Danielle,

Unfortunately it is. Just about anyone can claim that they have a headache, took Advil, and felt back. You have to show that you did not go to work due to the pain and the medical injury (not because you were fixing your car),the most effective way to do this is by seeking medical attention.

It does not mean that you should not be compensated. If you are still injured and you believe you are getting the short end of the stick, contact and attorney. You can do that by visiting:
