Question
my daughters car was stolen on 8-8-09 and was found by police on 8-10-09 with is the day claim was filed, adjuster came out on 8-13-09 and said car would be total loss due to the amount of damage, it took guit sometime for the agent to send papers they said they needed and when they came and my daughter sent them back the agent claimed she didn't get them all so it took another unreasonable amount of time to get the 2nd set of papers which turned out not to be right again because my daughter wrote something in so again after awhile a third set arrived she sent them off i witnessed them being filled out its been another couple of weeks now and she has heard nothing they won't answer calls or return them even, this was full coverage insurance, in the meantime my daughter is without a car its been 2 mos. ive never heard of a car insurance company taking so long. is there any legal action we can take, or something we can say to them to get them to pay this claim? thank-you

Answer
File a complaint with your state's insurance department and give them the details of the claim, your repeated compliance with the insurance company's requests. If that doesn't help, you may want to contact an attorney with specialty in policyholders issues.
