Question
What should I expect from the auto insurance company since I was in a car accident while driving another car? I have current car insurance and did not update my policy for two cars since I am single and can only drive one at a time.

Answer
Hello Ricky,

I am a little confused with your question.

You own two cars but had only one listed? well, this might be give you problems. If you own two vehicles that you drive, they both will have to be listed on the policy. The fact that you do not drive them at the same time does not mean that you cannot drive one one day and the other the next day. Both vehicle must be covered. Insurance follows the vehicle, for the most part.

If you do not own the vehicles (you had one vehicle, but you were driving someone's car), then the insurance of the car you were driving should pay first. If the damages are in excess of that policy, you insurance company can become secondary and cover the damages there.
