Answer
Hi,

Here is the story. If your ins company denied you, you are guilty till proven innocent. The insurance company in many cases hires some forensic locksmith hack that always finds in favor of their client insurance company. Damn, the innocent insureds!

Its a scam--they give you a discount for an ati-theft device that does not prevent theft. What they forget to tell you is that you will be denied on your claim. Good class action material!

Many of the goofs that call themselves experts in this field are just con men that try to get away with fraud themselves.

I am very good at these issues, in fact, I am one of the best and except for a very select few, most of these experts commonly make statements they cannot support with fact. There is even one of these clowns that writes forensic reports on vehicles he never examined for the insurance company. Talk about fraud!!!

I have maintained my website http://www.autotheftexpert.com with honest substantiated information. These goofs are so immature (like little school girls) that they post half truths, statements out of context, and outright lies about me.

If they treat me as an opposing expert this way, how do you think they treat innocent insureds?

I have found I am very polarizing in this field. All these locksmiths working for insurance companies did not like me successfully opposing them. They hated each other, but they hate me more in unison!

As for your anti-theft system--never send a locksmith out to do an auto theft examination. They have no clue!!!

If I can be of assistance to you let me know.

By the way, I am getting emboldened these days and don't care if they take this answer out of context.

You did not state the type of vehicle. BMW logs keys, but this can be tricky to because if someone inserts the key into the ignition and turns it on, it just rewrote the mileage.

Transponders can be defeated. The vehicles can also be towed.

Allegedly, the Ford transponder was impossible to defeat. I did it with one wire, shared the process and the consensus was my process worked every time. I can be the "Unstealable" Land Rover and many other vehicles. Locksmiths (the people that insurance companies use to determine if a car was stolen) look at the vehicle as if they were going to make a key. This could take hours! I on the other hand have been directly involved in the repair of more than 10,000 theft recoveries and instead of thinking like a locksmith, I think like a thief.

Yes a transponder vehicle is easily stolen. Some easier than others.

Expertise

Please remember. I am not an attorney and cannot legal advice. My answers are based on my experience due to litigation I have been involved in as an expert, for both insurance companies and while oposing them opposing them. I deal with only comprehensive claims on autos related to fire and theft. I have even had the opportunity to rewrite policy coverage language as it relates to vehicle theft and forced entry for insurance defense attorneys.

Experience

Experience in the area: Working with insurance companies and attorneys on these issues for over 20 years. It is very common to have a reported stolen car with a so-called factory anti-theft system to have the theft claim denied. I have served successfully as an expert witness in the courts across the US representing the insured and their attorney revealing that the insurance expert did not take all known theories into consideration before rendering their "Forensic" conclusion. Many insurance carriers us independent "Forensic" experts to examine reported stolen vehicles commonly using flawed methodology implicating the innocent insured with the theft. My job is to determine if the insurance expert reached his conclusions based on accepted scientific principals or just net opinion with no basis other than opinion. My case record against such experts is very compelling. My resume can be seen at the catagory "Auto Theft and Prevention." In "Forensics" the scientific method must be employed. In the forensic locksmith field determining how a reported stolen vehicle was last operated, many processes cannot be duplicated and are conveniently not addressed. If they were, juries would have the opportunity to make a fair and impartial opinion at least about what the expert could or could not prove. There is a purported process determining the last key used. The chances of determining such is very rare uless the key is found in the ignition lock. Experts commonly destroy evidence as well and are rarely questioned on this event. I reveal the weakness in their testimony on such instances.
