Auto Insurance Claims/What's the typical turn-around time from an accident to a fixed car?

Question
My car was hit by a plow in my driveway.  Called the plow driver's insurance and received a claim number.  The next steps, they said were for them to contact the plow driver to confirm the accident/claim.

I already went to a bunch of shops to get estimates (as if I was paying out of pocket).  How long does a typical claim process take for something like this from now until the car is in a shop being fixed?  I found a shop which also happens to be affiliated with the plow driver's insurance company which I wouldn't mind using.  Could it literally take weeks before I can drop my car off to be estimated/fixed?

Answer
Hello Ryan,

It depends on how bad the damage is. It also depends on what investigation the insurance company must do. Some times a claim can take as little as 5 days, but in other instances it may take as much as a month.
