Question
Was driving a rental car furnished by my insurance co. due to the theft of my vehicle ,while driving the rental was  in a hit and run accident .The other person was at fault. I have 2 different auto policies , and both have full coverage will both polices , pay on a claim or only one? And should  the rental company have any liability protection. It kind of sounds like to me when reading the rental agreement that it does. Any advice?

Answer
Hi Susan,

Only your insurance policy from the stolen vehicle is the one that will be responsible to pay. You can claim against both of your insurance policies. The rental companies liability coverage (if any) is not relevant here because you were not at fault. Your collision coverage will pay for the cost of the repairs to the rental ca less your deductible, which you will pay.

I hope this helps
