my son was making a left turn almost got through a car was
going through the intersection and hit is gear end pasager side.

It is very hard to determine who is at fault here. There is very little information in your question. It all depends on the investigation done on what each driver was doing (paying attention, following the rules of the road, and who had the right of way).
