Auto Insurance Claims/Glass Repair

Question
last night my driver side window along with other neighbors was broken,
nothing stolen. I would like BMW to do the repairs since newer car and would
like to retain resale value. Never had to file claim before & was directed to
installer 2.5 hours away by Ameriprise, after driving out there they were
unable to fix and stripped a nut within door, airbag lights are on and loose
door handle. How do I get my insurance co pay for getting the work done by
BMW? I'm also in a city that I do not live in for this next week & do not want
second rate installer with after market parts. I appreciate any help.

Thank you,
s

Answer
Hi Shannon,

You need to call Ameriprise and inform them of the inferior work that was done at the place that they sent you as well as the damage that they caused. You need to inform them that you will be taking your vehicle to a BMW dealership to have the glass replaced as well as to repair the items the other place damaged and that you expect Ameriprise to pay the entire cost. You should be prepared for them to push back. They will try to bully you into doing what they want. You need to stand firm on what you want and that they are going to pay for it. By sending you to an inferrior repair shop, they essentially damaged your vehicle and they need to pay for it.

I  hope this helps
