Question
It was rainy day. My car took skid on narrow lane where speed limit was 25, i was driving with 15-20 there was a stop signal i tried to stop n it couldnt stop.. so there was big Honda Civic which collided to my car.. nobody was injured..ticket was given to me... now my damages have been paid by insurance company but damage to other persons car exceed 16,000 more than my policy.. what can be done then? i am a student and cant afford this at all.. suppose in worst case if i have to pay that much amount then will i be able to pay monthly payments or will i have to pay one time.. also i am going to my native country for 2 months will this case continue here or do i have to b physically present here ? offcourse i do  have all intentions of clearing this case and payoff ...any advice will be helpful in this case... thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Shaun,

You will be responsible to pay the difference. You can set up monthly payment arrangements with the other insurance company. You should contact them to let them know you will be out of the country for 2 months. You can start the payments when you return.

Also you should contact your insurance company to increase your liability limits. You can see how easy it is to exceed what you have.

I hope this helps
