Question
My brother was involved in an auto accident 01/04/09, he was a front seat passenger in a friends rental car. He have taken out the max coverage with enterprise rental company. He had a knee injury, back and neck pain, no broken bones.  He has had pt and have thus far a total of about 4500.00 medical bills. But about 2 weeks ago he fell in the yard and I took him to the Dr and found out he had a blood clot in his left leg and spend days in the hospital.  This was the same leg he hurt in the accident. I have not submitted these charges yet I am doing this tomorrow, I believe it is related because since his accident he has had less mobility.  Do you think I should submit these medical charges also?

Answer
Hello Barbara,

Why not submit them along with your argument. What would help you would be if you got a written note of opinion from the doctor that the auto accident injury could have aggravated or caused the clot.

Once you get a final offer in writing, see if you can find an attorney to take over the claim for a percentage fee "over and above" what you were offered. 50% fee would not be unreasonable. Most attorneys won't do this, so you have to "call em all" if you have to.
