Question
I googled betterment laws in Texas and i found that their were court cases which prevented auto insurance agencies from claiming betterment in Texas. Can auto insurance agencies in Texas still claim betterment in order to not pay the full cost of repairing vehicles>
There was a case in PA that made it against the law to take betterment off an insurance settlement, too, but the insurers still take it as a matter of routine. There just aren't that many people who would complain and bring it to the attention of the state insurance commissioner. Bring it up to the insurance company and ask them why they persist in this practice. The answer is because they can.
