Expert: Richard Hixenbaugh - 6/30/2009

Question
i was involved in an auto accident last week a  girl ran a  yield sign and hit me she has not yet reported it to her agency can i do that and how long do i have

Answer
Hi Brooke,

There is no real time limit, but you should do it as soon as possible. Call her insurance comapny and report the accident. If they give you a hard time then you can report it to your insurance company if you have collision coverage. They will handle the damage to your car less your deductible. Then they will get reimbursed by the other company.

I hope this helps
