Question
My girlfriend got in a car wreck and the adjuster is trying to not total the car. the car is worth 10,000 and the damages are well over 15,000. The isurance allstate is willing to pay the value of the car, but what about anything extra? are we not entitled to more money other than the wreck of the vehicle? and if so what should i argue with adjuster about.keep in mind the accident was not our fault and that we still compensation to at least try and purchase another vehicle.

Answer
Hello Mike,

The most important item is the value of the car itself, which Allstate will probably underpay you on using a CCC or ADP report.

If Allstate is the other drivers insurer, then you  may be entitled to allot more stuff, but if Allstate is your own insurer, then you may only be entitled to a few more items. I suggest you consider one of the eBooks (on sale and guaranteed) on how to handle an automobile total loss claim at UClaim.com. Some other items to consider are rental car, loss of use, salvage value and who gets the salvage, personal property, etc.
