Question I wrecked my car it was my fault i hit a light pole in a parking lot now i didnt claim my car at the time of the accident because i was hoping to fix my car myself so my insurance rate wouldnt go up so what do i say and what do i do because since both of my airbags deployed and i have damage to the front of my car i cant afford to fix my car it would be to expensive now it has been about a month since the accident what should i do i do or say
Answer Jennifer,
As long as you had coverage as of the date of loss, your delay in reporting the claim should not be a problem. Just explain the matter as you have to me when you call your insurer. Tell them the date, the time, the conditions and whether or not there was any damage to another person's property, such as the pole.
