Auto Insurance Claims/Co-worker won't give me her insurance info

Question
A co-worker wants to pay me cash for damage she did to my parked car at work. I took it to a body shop today and the damage is almost $400. The guy told me to get money for a rental car as well because he will have to keep my car for 2-3 days. On Monday I will confront her with the estimate plus the fact that I will be carless for a few days and want a rental....I'm sure she won't like the price. What can I do if she still refuses to give me her insurance info?  I've already asked her for it, but, she says she doesn't want to use it because her rates will go up, blah, blah, blah. I'm afraid she will use a million excuses about how she doesn't have the money, etc.  Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Dawn,

You will need to have a copy of the estimate from the body shop as well as a print out of the cost of the rental. You should write up a letter to give her with the bills stating that if she does not pay you in full in cash within 24 hours of presenting her with the bills that you will call the police to come and make an accident report at which time she will have to provide her insurance info to the police officer.

That way either you get paid by her or yo get her insurance info to file a claim.

I hope this helps
