Auto Insurance Claims/Can I demand reimbursement of medical bills before settlement?

Question
I submitted a demand letter but the at-fault car insurance counter offer low. However, it is still higher than my medical charges. The difference is on the pain and suffering. The insurance has no question to my medical charges and treatments. Since I need to pay the medical bills, can I demand the at-fault car insurance to reimburse me for the medical bills first or they only pay the total compensation for my injury claim after the case is resolved? Does the insurance law require the insurance to pay the necessary medical bills immediately if the fault is clear? Thank you for your answer.

Answer
Hi Luo,

The insurance comapny will not pay your medical bills until a final settlement agreement is made and you have signed a release form. You just have to send them a counter offer and try to get this resolved as soon as possible.

I hope this helps
