Question
had full coverage for car in my name, got insurance last year however stated need to update driver's license but didn't drive car, agent used license number but showed him my Illinois state ID. got full coverage, paid all year - daughter had accident not her fault, insurance won't paid claim because ran license number and it is not valid.  Is there anything I can do?

Answer
Hi Bernadine,

If the accident was not your daughters fault, you should file the claim against the at-fault drivers insurance company. It shoudl not make a difference about the license with them. If you need to you can file a complaint with your state insurance commissioners office. This may not get your claim paid but it willl get you a more detailed explanation for the denial of coverage under your own policy.

I hope this helps
