Auto Insurance Claims/Dispute with Rental Car Insurance Company

Question
I was involved in a car accident in which the other party admitted he was at fault. The police report also confirmed this. This accident occurred in San Francisco, CA. The other party is originally from Israel and was renting a car from Alamo Car Rental Agency. Alamo referred me to their car insurance provider which is Rental Insurance Services in St. Louis, MO. Upon contacting them, the claim adjuster from the rental insurance company agreed to only pay 25% of the damages. Where do they come up with this percentage? Am I able to ask for more? What do I do? There was no injury involved and I only have liability insurance.

Answer
Hello Eddy,

Claims are always open to negotiation, unless you have a ruling from a court. That's the way our system work. Ask the adjuster about the 25%. How did they come to that?

They must explain.

Here is a little information about fault:

As always, it's good to talk to an attorney.

Good Luck
