Question
Can you make a claim regarding an accident that occurred over a year ago that wasn't filed in any kind of report even though you know who is responsible?

Answer
Hi Kaylyn,

Yes you can make a claim for an accident that occured over a year ago. However you should expect that the claims adjuster will ask you a number of questions as to why you waited so long to file the claim. Also, if you are intending to file against the at-fault persons insurance company it will be more difficult to prove your claim because there is no police report and likely no witnessess. But you can make the claim and see what happens.

I hope this helps
