Auto Insurance Claims/Bagging Out

Question
I was bagging out of parking space and notice there was another car bagging out directly behind me. I stopped and blew my horn to make the other driver aware of me but she hit my rear panel and side bumper. The other driver was very apologetic and took responsibility for hitting my car at the scene. Now the insurance co said that there is conflicting info regarding what happen.  What can I do to make sure she pays for my damage her insurance co estimated to be $800 in damages?

Answer
Hi Tbuck,

Parking lot accidents are some of the most difficult to determine fault. The other driver likely told her insurance company that you were both backing up and hit each other. In these cases, fault is usually decided to be 50/50.

I hope this helps
