Auto Insurance Claims/Total car in Alabama

Question
Car has been deemed a Total Loss by Insurance. Does Alabama State Law state that you CAN NOT retain car unless you yourself have a Rebuilders License?

Answer
I'm not sure about Alabama state law, but in many states you have to have a car that has been rebuilt from a total loss inspected by either a state trooper or a state inspection facility. Many states require that you take photos of the welds before they are covered by paint or by body panels to establish that your work was to standard.
