Auto Insurance Claims/car fire

Question
I was driving my kia Rio when it filled with smoke and started on fire around the fuse pannel and now the insurance has dragged it out for 4 weeks with out any info. How do I deal with the adjuster who is trying to weisle me?

Answer
Kerrie,

If the car is in a shop awaiting appraisal, call the shop and ask why the delay. And if they repair your car, make sure they guarantee the repairs, because smoke acid can make electronics fail months later.

Call the adjuster's supervisor and see if they accept or deny the claim, in writing, within a few days. If no response or not in writing, fax a letter to the CEO of the insurer. If no response, or if denied, or if paid but undervalued, consider one of the eBooks at UClaim.com on denied claims and or Total Loss Auto.
