Question
i was involved in auto accident with 18wheeler he was making an illegal turn on inside lane i was on outside.we were both in process of making a left turn.he struck my rear panel damaging vehicle.went to er and was told i suffered from muscle strain in both legs due to the tensing up of legs on impact...how can i know i am going to get a fair settlement for compensation as far as pain and suffering aspect of this..i am not going through lawyer and dont want to claim any false injuries but would like to be justly compensated for this ongoing pain..it has been a week ago since accident and i dont want to prolong settlement..is there a base guidline as far as what i can ask for for that part of the compensation?

Well, the only base line is that you are injured "in fact." If you have injuries and can show that, then you are entitled to pain and suffering, medical bills, lost wages and etc.

I know you do not want to retain an attorney, but that is the best thing you could do.
