Auto Insurance Claims/Insurance Statement re DUI

Question
Hi Richard,

What do I tell an insurance company after a DUI accident? I have a court date in CA in March, but do not want to give a statement to my insurance company that can be used in court and hurt my case.

Thank you.

Answer
Hi Mandy,

You simply stick to the facts. You can tell them that you were charged with DUI but that you are fighting that and give them the court date, but also tell them that you will not discuss any further details about that until after the court date.

I hope this helps
