Auto Insurance Claims/Which insurance company to file through?

Question
i was recently involved in an accident where an individual ran a red light and hit the front end of my truck. the drivers side tire was bent into the wheel well about a 45 degree angle. I am insured through Geico. when i called to report the claim, they told me that I had the option of either filing through the other individuals insurance or through Geico. Through Geico, i would have to pay the deductible etc, but they told me the other option through the other individuals insurance would cover the rental car, any medical, and all costs relative to fixing the vehicle. I'm wondering what the best way to file is...through Geico (my policy holder) or the other individuals insurance.

Thanks

Answer
Submit to both to see who offers the best deal on the vehicle value if its a total loss. If repairable, use your own insurer only if the other insurer jacks you around. You will get your deductible back later. If a total loss and both lowball you, get a total loss eBook at UClaim.com
